A little about myself you might not know
I’m Harold Turk, D.C. 😊
I’m a first-generation American. My father’s parents were Holocaust survivors. They were from Poland and Romania, and came to the U.S. after the war, by way of Sweden (which is where they were liberated to and met). My mother’s side are Jewish from Tunisia, and my mother was raised in France. Together, they raised my younger brother and me in the San Fernando Valley. 🌍
Growing up, it was all about sports and not much else. However, everything changed my senior year after a car accident. After seeing a Chiropractor for the first time, I had that “ah-ha” moment and instantly realized that’s what I wanted to do. 💡
Over the years, I sought out mentors who would help me weave together a vision of work that I had for myself. It was a kind of one-stop-shop healing therapy that would entail verbal therapeutic coaching partnered with a very specialized form of physical hands on bodywork. I learned this cathartic style of healing from my teachers who are indigenous Māori healers from New Zealand. The combination of the verbal and physical hands on bodywork now helps my clients through a myriad of life and health issues. 🌿
On a personal note, I always thought I’d get married and have a family, but apparently life had other plans. Surprisingly, I stayed single until age 47 when I finally met my wife, Lindsay. We met and instantly fell in love at the beginning of the pandemic, and we were married two years later. Both of us understood that we spend lot of our energy helping others in our respective careers, and we made a conscious choice to expand our lives and see the world together through travel, instead of having kids.
When I’m not working, you can find me watching movies, getting my butt kicked learning jiu-jitsu, or thinking about the dog Lindsay and I will adopt soon! 🥋
I love people. So whether you’re here because you’re curious about finding out more about my work or working with me, or you just want to swap travel stories and recommendations, I’m all ears. Don’t be a stranger, send me a DM! 🗣️
